“Food shirts are the new band shirts.” In our recent Brandoms trend, we explored the way that fashion and food are coming together for unlikely collabs, as logomania is reinvented. Some of the appeal comes from the products being ironic (think Taco Bell and Forever 21’s viral line for teens), but many also genuinely want to share their love for their favorite food companies. The collabs are pulling “triple duty” by creating revenue, scoring publicity, and getting fans to be (as one KFC exec put it) “walking billboards.” (Eater)
