Viacom is betting big on in-person experiences. Just this month, the media company has Nickelodeon’s SlimeFest, Comedy Central’s ClusterFest, VidCon, and the BET Experience on their agenda. Experiences are becoming an important source of revenue and way of engaging with viewers beyond the screen for the media giant. So far, the events have been successful and Viacom “expect[s] revenue in live events and recreation to nearly double” this fiscal year. (THR)
