Facebook is working on its own version of Bitmoji, an acquisition that has proved to be a boon for Snapchat. A reporter uncovered Facebook Avatars hidden within the code for Facebook’s Android app. The new feature will let users customize an avatar that they can then use to communicate with others. Considering how successful Bitmoji has been and Facebook’s track record for imitation, it’s surprising it’s taken them this long to create their copycat—which is still in its early stages.
