Facebook is losing young users to teen-favorite app, Snapchat. EMarketer predicts a 5.6% decline in Facebook’s 18-24-year-old users this year and a decline in users under the age of 18. They estimate Snapchat will add 1.9 million under-24-year-old new users—300,000 more than Instagram. Facebook announced last week that its North American daily user count and the average time users spend on the platform are both down. Even as Facebook and its properties still dominate the social media scene, Snapchat is gaining ground. (AdAge)
