Hollywood is backing virtual reality with major deals. Spheres debuted at Sundance, where the three-part sci-fi series was picked up for distribution across multiple platforms, starting with the Oculus Rift. Shortly thereafter, the documentary Zikr: A Sufi Revival was acquired at Sundance, becoming the first in its category to do so.
