Gen Z is growing up and grocery shopping, filling their carts with fresh, organic, and global options at tech-savvy stores. Though Gen Z currently makes up the lowest-spending, smallest portion of shoppers, they’re starting to choose where to flex their spending power. Unsurprisingly, the diverse generation seeks a wide range of international cuisine. Acosta also predicts that “Gen Z shoppers show high awareness of, and desire for, healthy food,” and that they’ll expect to shop digitally for groceries—42% already shop using a digital grocery list.
