Apple is adding more parental controls in response to investor concerns over childhood tech addictions. Major investor JANA Partners LLC took an unusually strong stand for a large-scale corporation, writing that “Apple can play a defining role in signaling to the industry that paying special attention to the health and development of the next generation is both good business and the right thing to do.” Apple is planning on making their tools for parents “even more robust” to set the industry standard (and please investors), as the Black Mirror effect has more young consumers questioning the role of tech in their lives.
