YouTube’s top earners are seeing their subscriber growth and views plateau. Stats from Socialblade show the year-over-year exponential rise of online celebrities’ video content, but suggest that their peak has passed. PewDiePie’s new subscriber number has been falling since January of last year and his average monthly views are down to almost half of their 2015 heyday. Zoella and DanTDM are seeing similar declines. While some have “bucked the trend,” Gen Z favorites may have to branch out beyond video to maintain their top celebrity status. (Business Insider)
