Millennials and Gen Z have little patience these days, so it’s good news that major credit cards are nixing the need to sign for purchases. MasterCard and Discover are ruling out the step in the U.S. and Canada, while American Express is taking the change worldwide. One exec thinks “Signatures may be going the way of the lava lamp” and that “Signatures won’t be part of [Gen Z’s] stored memories.” Why? Signatures may not be helping with security after all, since no one is thoroughly verifying them. (The Seattle Times)
