2017 has seen its fair share of food trends (and more) this year, from gimmicks like the Unicorn Frappuccino to industry-shaking moves like Amazon’s takeover of Whole Foods. There was marketing madness (think McDonald’s “frork”) and brands galore betting on Millennials’ love for bottled java. Chain restaurants had a rough year, and several “devour[ed] each other” in the struggle for relevancy; most recently, Arby’s announced they’re buying Buffalo Wild Wings.
