Stores were eerily empty on Black Friday, but Thanksgiving ecommerce sales hit a record haul of $2.87 billion. As we predicted last year, shoppers are switching to cyber for their holiday shopping, with smartphones in particular playing a bigger role in holiday retail. Online sales for Thanksgiving rose 18.3% year over year, according to Adobe, and it’s not just the holidays driving growth.
