Snapchat might be planning “a major redesign” that “will be disruptive” and risky, according to founder Evan Spiegel. The app’s stagnating user growth and $40 million of unsold Spectacles has sent stock plummeting. In an effort to gain more users, the app will be made “easier to use,” but will likely still prioritize augmented reality, a major differentiator for the platform. Spiegel also indicated that influencers and creators will be getting more love (and ad revenue) from Snapchat, thanks to a new “ecosystem.” (Business Insider, Adweek)
