The NCAA is making moves to get involved with college esports. Competitive video gaming has spread across U.S. campuses, with students joining varsity teams, competing in leagues, and even earning scholarships. Esports has levelled up, and the leading governing body for U.S. collegiate athletics can’t ignore it any longer. In August, the organization announced they would look into the upstart sport, issued an RFP, and just this Tuesday met to discuss the topic further. Though college esports already has one governing body, NACE, the NCAA’s involvement could mean more top-tier institutions will get in on the (video) game. (ESPN)
