Only 53% of esports fans consider it an “actual sport,” but that won’t stop the pastime from making it mainstream. Even though most don’t think competitive gaming should be added to the Olympics, over 70% say it will become “’a mainstream activity’ in the near future.” This comes from Nielsen’s first-ever esports report, right in the wake of Ypulse’s own deep dive in to the trend with Millennials & Gen Z: Esports Levels Up.
