One company is going to extremes to provide young employees with every stereotypical Millennial perk possible. U.K. social media agency Social Chain has actually hired a “Director of Happiness” to “retain the specialness” of their employees. They’re offering Lunch & Learns on self-defense, “yoga and meditation sessions,” and celebrations for “everything,” not to mention “puppies, ball pits, a bar,” and more. We surveyed Millennial employees in both the U.K. and U.S. and found these extras are nice, but don’t even crack the top ten of what young consumers really care about in the workplace: salary, work-life balance, and health benefits.
