The Girl Scouts of America just called out the Boy Scouts of America for trying to “recruit girls” through a “covert campaign” to appeal to (gender-neutral minded) Millennial parents. The Girl Scout’s National President wrote a strongly worded letter accusing the organization of “surreptitiously testing the appeal of a girls’ offering to [M]illennial parents” to boost their “declining membership.” She called them “inherently dishonest” and “reckless,” comparing recruiting girls to “a corporate hostile takeover.” Guess that’s the way the Girl Scout cookie crumbles.
