The concept is not as new as the name, a not-so-clever combo of “planned” and “candid,” and a good one entails looking like “you've been caught in the act of looking good in an 'off duty model' sort of way.” The perfect #plandid shot seems as “natural as possible,” and keeps you from appearing “vain and contrived.” One Instagram blogger said she saw the term in an influencer’s post and started using it, and now over 500 posts pop up for the hashtag, showing just how fast the speed of social can be.
