Wattpad is taking mobile chat fiction to the next level with “Tap Originals,” featuring audio, video, photos, and “choose-your-own-ending” plots. Tap has racked up over two billion interactions with their stories since they hit app stores earlier this year, but in the competitive chat fiction space—“a new form of entertainment”—they’re still outranked by Hooked and Yarn. Originals will “go beyond text” with content like FaceTime videos with the main character and voice messages; original multimedia content that might help set them apart from the pack. (TechCrunch)
