Can “arcade-style” driving ranges (and booze) get more Millennials to play golf? The generation has been notably missing on the green, with golf participation waning year over year, but “high-tech driving range and entertainment company” TopGolf has reportedly “struck a chord” with young players. At these more social ranges, targets are set out for players to aim at, golf balls are embedded with chips to show distance travelled, and an app tracks scores over time. Those who aren’t swinging can order refreshments or “carouse” at tables behind the tees. Did we mention there’s alcohol? (Chicago Tribune)
