YouTube is revising its rules for ad-friendly content, adding extra restrictions on how popular kids’ characters can behave. After media agencies pulled high-power brands’ ads (and loads of spending dollars) from YouTube after learning they were aligning with inappropriate content, the platform has had to pull out all the stops to make brands feel safe. Part of this means characters like Mickey Mouse won’t be showed engaging in “violent, sexual, vile, or otherwise inappropriate behavior” in any videos that might be monetized. (Variety)
