Two Millennial college dropouts have created the “world’s fastest growing watch brand.” According to Kramer LaPlante and his roommate Jake Kassan, MVMT came about because the two “watch nerds” couldn’t find timepieces that resonated with them: “what was available was over priced, marked up, and the brands weren’t things that we really felt we wanted to get behind.” With an initial launch through crowdfunding and an online-only focus that heavily relies on social media, the pair sold 600,000 of their accessible, cleanly-designed watches in just three years.
