Ski destinations need Millennials to replace Boomers on the slopes. According to the National Ski Areas Association, the number of 52-70-year-olds combined with 71-year-olds and older who are visiting ski areas has gone from 36.2% to 21.3% over the past decade. Millennials are now representing the largest group of visitors—but they have the fewest number of participating days per season. As a response, ski companies are tweaking their promotions to include more deals for thrifty young skiers and snowboarders, and adding free Wi-Fi to their locations to encourage digital sharing.(The Portland Press Herald)
