Major historic events can define a generation.

Dec 16 2016

Major historic events can define a generation. When Pew Research asked Americans what historic events during their lifetime have had “the greatest impact on the country,” they found Boomers’ “unifying events” were the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the Vietnam War, while Gen Xers’ and Millennials’ were 9/11 attacks and Obama’s election. Events that made Millennials’ top ten list, but not older generations', were Sandy Hook and Orlando/Pulse nightclub shootings, the death of Osama bin Laden, the Boston Marathon bombing, and the Great Recession.
