A new app is letting Millennial women give friends updates on their safety. Hope—a “virtual BFF and concierge”—aims to keep social young women protected by using geo-fencing technology to determine whether they are out or home safe, and sharing that status with their friends without revealing exact locations. Statuses can also include if a user’s phone battery is low, plugged-in, or dead, and how long a user has been out. The app also has a chatbot that lets users shop, make reservations, or order an Uber. (TechCrunch)
