The CEO of Electronic Arts says representation in video games is more important than ever. According to him, today’s gamers are 50% female, average in age around 35, and can no longer be defined by only one culture, gender, or socioeconomic background. Game characters and narratives should reflect that: “…what is the most important thing for us, like it is in movies and books and TV and all other forms of entertainment, is to really capture the true nature of the community that’s engaging in that content.” He also believes children should be educated in coding, which is bound to be a universal language.
