Neiman Marcus is teaming up with Rent the Runway to attract young shoppers. The partnership will bring Rent the Runway boutiques into the stores, where shoppers can rent styles and stylists will suggest Neiman Marcus items to complete looks. An app will allow consumers to see what merchandise will be available to rent for that day. Currently, Neiman’s average shopper is 51, and Rent the Runway’s is 29, so the rental service could be key to bringing “the next generation of luxury consumers” into stores and bolster falling sales.
