Popular LA grocery chain Erewhon is crediting Millennials for helping them stand out in the saturated organic food space. After struggling to compete in 2011, new ownership focused on catering to young consumers by rebranding and setting strict standards for what ingredients would be accepted in their offerings. The store is now 100% organic, because “Millennials understand the value of organic food where older demographics need more education on why it’s so important to eat organic.” They also say their prepared foods and cafes have help create a loyal young fanbase.
