MLB is continuing to branch out into scripted shows to attract a younger generation of sports fans. In a collaboration with AwesomenessTV, MLB is launching Out of My League, a six-episode rom-com starring influencers Lauren Elizabeth Luthringshausen and Brian Redmon, who have 1.2 million and 580,000 followers on YouTube respectively. The online series will be set in the Dodger Stadium and follow the love story of a passionate Dodgers fan and a stadium employee who knows nothing about the sport. MLB also partnered with Fox on this fall’s TV drama Pitch. (Adweek)
