A new book is advising congregations to stop trying to be cool to attract young worshippers, and start being warm. Many churches have reportedly been spending on “flashy worship services” to seem alluring. But Growing Young has revealed that 15-29-year-olds are looking for authenticity and connection from their churches, and flashy youth-focused programs won’t cut it. Desiring a strong connection over just superficial friendliness, young congregates stated they are looking for a community that is “like family.” (Washington Post)
