The first of an ongoing poll that focuses on major Millennial racial and ethnic groups has found that race seriously impacts Millennials’ political beliefs, views on racism and gun control, and approval of Obama. Black, Asian, and Hispanic 18-30-year-olds overwhelmingly leaned Democratic, while white Millennials are split in their political party views. Young minorities are more likely than their white counterparts to say racism “remains a major problem in our society,” and more likely to support wealth being evenly distributed across America.
