Millennials are having smartphone separation anxiety. Bank of America’s new report on mobile use found that without immediate access to their phones 43% of Millennials feel bored, 39% feel anxious, 25% feel FOMO, and 20% feel relief—more than other generations on all counts. Smartphone usage has also replaced “the act of lighting a cigarette as a sign that you do not wish to engage with the world at large”—especially for young consumers. At holiday family gatherings, 25% of respondents overall admit to using their phone to avoid conversation, compared to 40% of Millennials. (Android Headlines)
