Instagram is continuing to influence marketing, even off the platform. E-commerce site Menlook is bringing their Instagram aesthetic into traditional TV ads to “capture the creativity and spontaneity of [the] social network and transpose it to [the] long-established advertising format.” The commercial will feature fashion influencer posts from around the world that follow the “flat lay” trend: “organizing items into an aesthetically pleasing arrangement and photographing them from a birds-eye view.” They will also hold a competition for consumers who use the hashtag #MyMenLook on their flat lay posts.
