Facebook is working towards building a more compassionate platform. To combat cyberbullying, the social platform implemented a team to give users more control of their content, and give them tools to work out issues amongst themselves. Their social reporting tool, which allows one user send a pre-populated message to another if they wanted a photo taken down, was a success: 85% of insistences prompted the person to take down the photo or reply to the message. Since then they have integrated “hide” and “unfollow” buttons so that people can remove negative content, and added emoji reactions to allow for expression with a range of emotions. (The Atlantic)
