Earlier this week, Snapchat announced a noteworthy update that could change the way brands interact with its young users. Their Chat 2.0 feature allows users to send stickers, video, and audio notes, or make an audio or video call to contact friends outside the app, giving messaging apps a run for their money. According to TechCrunch: “Snapchat has figured out how to pull every way humans communicate into a single interface… Instead of having to choose how you want to connect before you start, conversations can evolve on the fly.” For brands, it’s an opportunity to “engage audiences in a meaningful way,” and allow for interaction around live stories and content.
