For parents who need to be in three places at the same time, an Uber-inspired start-up is offering rides for kids and nannies on-demand. We first spotted “Ubers for kids” like Shuddle in 2014, but Zum is going a step further. The ride service for children five to 15-years-old arranges caregivers, or “Zumers,” to not only drive kids where they need to go, but also watch them while they’re there. The service, which now has 500 families as customers, rigorously screens Zumers, and works on building a relationship between the caregivers and families to put parents’ worries at ease.
