Watch out Amazon and Walmart, e-commerce app Wish is coming for you. Wish is estimated to sell $2 billion of merchant goods in 2016, thanks to a seamless smartphone platform that positions products like “eye candy,” as well as aggressive discounting strategies, dirt-cheap prices, and personalized product recommendations. The app is successfully targeting impulse purchasers and the “value shopper,” relying heavily on Facebook and Instagram ads that use a deep-learning algorithm to appeal to each individual viewer.
