Star Trek is returning to TV, and the new show needs to create the new generation of Trekkies. While the two Star Trek reboot films certainly attracted a young movie audience, those born after the early 2000s have never known a “fandom-inspiring”Star Trek TV show. That might explain why younger viewers are least likely to consider themselves fans of the franchise. According to one poll, 32% of 18-29-year-olds consider themselves Trek fans, versus 49% of 45-60-year-olds. (FiveThirtyEight)
