The LaLa is an online publisher for and by today’s college women, and it’s celebrating one year of putting out empowering positive content. Co-founder Catherine Crowley says the site is providing a place that serves as an escape and counterpoint to the “abundance of negative media out there for college women to consume, from ‘How to Lose the Freshman 15’ to ‘Girls Gone Wild.’” The LaLa boasts almost 600,000 unique monthly visitors, who can also become editorial and photography contributors.
