Move over Barbie, the DC Super Hero Girls are coming. Mattel is upping efforts to keep up with girls’ shifting interests and reverse flagging sales by launching a line of female super hero toys for girls 6-12 years old. The franchise will feature teenage heroes like Supergirl, Wonder Woman, and Batgirl, and include not just toys, but TV specials, apparel, books, and other content. The products answer Millennials’ fight for superwomen, and are intended to “engage and inspire girls,” who have proven they are interested in more than fashion-focused items. (brandchannel)
