Not everyone may understand the appeal of EDM music and culture, but there is no question that as the popularity of the genre continues to grow, brands should be aware of the influence of EDM events and the top DJs.

Not everyone may understand the appeal of EDM music and culture, but there is no question that as the popularity of the genre continues to grow, brands should be aware of the influence of EDM events and the top DJs. There have reportedly been over 6 million EDM related conversations on social media since the start of 2015, compared to just 2 million conversations around pop music. Some brands are earning mentions among EDM fans, with Corona’s event sponsorships and Nike’s bright and dance-friendly clothes and shoes collecting the most discussions. Top-followed DJs, like David Guetta and Skrillex, are being courted by mainstream brands hoping to take advantage of their massive social media reach. (MediaPost)
