Snapchat is tackling the sports world in their next move to become a media hub for young users. During March Madness’s Final Four games, users can watch Snapchat’s Our Story feature to see a montage of photos and videos crowdsourced from users and stitched together by an in-house editorial team that covers the live action of games—from locker rooms to tailgates to the stands. The app has been using Our Story “guerilla-style” to be “the SportCenter of cultural moments,” broadcasting snaps and videos of events like the World Cup and college football games. The app is in talks with sports leagues and broadcast networks to help “legitimize” Our Story coverage. (Digiday)
