For years, Blackboard, the education software with a reputation for outdated and not very user-friendly tech, has dominated U.S. classrooms. Now education startup Instructure is on a mission to take them down. In four years, the company has gained 18 million users for its first software, Canvas, a K-12 learning management system that boasts itself as more simple, elegant, and modern than its competitor.
