Don’t let the name throw you off: McTuckey Fried High is not the newest addition to the McDonald’s menu. It’s actually a new webseries targeting teens and young adults who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning. The five piece series is “an animated comedy following an ensemble of teen foods who navigate sexuality, gender identity and high school politics.” In January of 2015, Ypulse’s monthly survey found that 40% of 13-17-year-olds say they are passionate about LBGT issues. The creator of McTuckey Fried High hopes the series will make previously touchy topics of conversations accessible to teens in a non-intimidating, identifiable, and easily digestible way.
