What are kids looking for in the books they read?

Dec 05 2014

What are kids looking for in the books they read? Kids ages 6 to 8 want to read books that feature characters that look like them, while ages 9 to 11 want to read stories with a mystery or problem to solve, and those ages 12 to 14 are more likely than older kids to “want books with smart, strong characters.” But all kids, from ages 6 to 17, want humor, with 70% saying they want books that make them laugh.
