Many Millennials were first given phones so that mom and dad could keep tabs on them, and it turns out those phone communications could actually be giving them better relationships. A recent study found that 18-29-year-olds who text with their parents “are (slightly) happier with their relationships with them.” Participants reported using three communication channels on average to stay in touch with parents, and methods included email, video calls, texting, instant messaging, and social networks—even Snapchat.
