Ann Taylor is launching “This Is Ann” for the next gen.

Ann Taylor is launching “This Is Ann” for the next gen. This will be its biggest marketing campaign since 2017, aiming to reintroduce the brand to modern working women who juggle careers, family, and style without losing their edge. The push includes New York-shot ads, a Fashion Week pop-up in SoHo, and their first-ever brand ambassador program launching in 2027. It’s also focused on community-building through a new career-and-style newsletter on Substack called The Desk, its Style 101 video series offering fashion advice, and the brand ambassador program spotlighting “authentic voices of the women who love and wear the brand.” The move echoes a broader trend among heritage brands like Coach reviving their fortunes by courting younger shoppers through fresher, creator-driven storytelling. Curology is turning Walmart shelves into a funnel for prescription skincare.

Curology is turning Walmart shelves into a funnel for prescription skincare. The brand’s new Prescription Acne Kit is converting shoppers to a medical consultation and prescription at five times the rate it sees online. And now in 1K Walmart stores, it’s pulling in largely new patients rather than just shifting existing subscribers to a new channel. The $24.97 kit pairs non-prescription cleanser and moisturizer with a code for a personalized Rx after a sub-seven-minute online consult, and promises meds shipped within 24 hours. Walmart has folded the kit into its Fall Beauty Event and back-to-college assortment, betting that students—who are shopping for skincare routines that fit “how they’re living”—are primed to want dermatologist-backed treatment without the traditional derm-office hurdle. Macy’s is getting influencers hyped for Thanksgiving.

Macy’s is getting influencers hyped for Thanksgiving. The 100th parade is just under 100 days away, which really means the season of celebration is beginning. To kick it off, Macy’s invited a slew of influencers, from momfluencers to NYC stoop decorators, to the parade’s warehouse, where they could see some of the unannounced floats of the season and attend a huge feast. The event—other than the secret floats—was all documented for their social feeds, of course, from the red carpet entrance to rolls with their names on them. YPulse knows young consumers are not opposed to getting in the holiday spirit early (Summerween, we’re looking at you), and content inspires that speedy seasonal turnover. (NYT)

Jo Malone is promoting its new cologne in Fortnite.

Jo Malone is promoting its new cologne in Fortnite. Using a special code, players could access the brand’s first gaming effort, a creator-made island meant to convey the “spirit” of the new Sea Salt and Bergamot fragrance. Rather than build a whole new space, the brand created a limited-time game on an existing map. In addition to the in-game activation, the brand teamed up with gaming creators for livestreams and social content to align with the Fortnite premiere. While higher-end fragrance and gaming might not be an expected matchup, brands of all kinds are turning to sandbox games to reach Gen Z. (Marketing Dive)
