CBS Sports is teaming up with this startup company to bring the future of tech to sports. The sports broadcasting giant is partnering with the Israeli tech company Hype Sports Innovation to level-up the way fans watch sports. Viewers of CBS Sports watch NFL, NCAA, Uefa Champions League games, and more, so the pressure to please millions of sports fans is on the line for both companies. However, Hype has plenty of experience in the sports industry—with 200 leagues, teams, and federations, and work with 3,500 sports tech startups under its belt. The partnership between the tech company and CBS will bring artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, and remote broadcasting to the channel. Both companies believe that the addition of these technologies will “make backend operations more efficient and bring fans closer to the sport they are watching by offering entirely new experiences.” YPulse’s Sports and Athletics report data shows 64% of young people who follow sports watch them on live TV, but it falls just behind streaming.
