It’s Pride Month, and one Washington D.C. high school principal honored the occasion in a major way. Inspired by his students, Principal Pete Cahall came out to his school at their second annual LGBT pride event, giving a speech with the mayor by his side to tell the school, “I have hid in the shadows, but I am liberated today to be me.” 78% of Millennials tell us they know someone who identifies as LGBT, and that number is clearly increasing as acceptance around them grows.
