Rage-applying is the new quiet quitting.

Rage-applying is the new quiet quitting. YPulse data shows that Gen Z and Millennials have higher expectations at their jobs than gens before them; they fuel trends like more salary transparency, the infamous “quiet quitting” (which they prefer to call “working their wage”), and better work-life balance. Now, a Millennial TikTok creator is promoting “rage applying”—applying frantically to new jobs when they get fed up with their current one, until they find one which will offer them perks like a huge raise, or at least an offer to use as negotiation. The original creator of the term says she received a $25K raise from rage-applying, and encourages younger generations of workers to do the same. The video has thousands of comments sharing similar success stories, and is inspiring other young workers not to settle for a job they aren’t happy with—which is going to force companies to meet these gen’s standards to keep them around.
