Black-owned gourmet snack brand Pipcorn (now Pipsnacks) launched a Black Entrepreneur Spotlight series to amplify awareness for others.

Black-owned gourmet snack brand Pipcorn (now Pipsnacks) launched a Black Entrepreneur Spotlight series to amplify awareness for others. Founded by brother and sister team Jeff and Jennifer Martin, Pipcorn has been growing since 2012, and thanks to their Shark Tank appearance, they’ve amassed “substantial social presence today, with more than 30,000 Instagram followers.” Since February, they’ve been shining the spotlight on other Black-founded brands “to further amplify Black voices across all industries.” While Black business owners are the fastest-growing group of entrepreneurs, they’re far less likely to receive funding than their White counterparts, and far more likely to be forced to use their own cash to get off the ground. Pipcorn is helping by sharing information about a different Black-founded business with their followers monthly, as well as giving away products to heighten exposure. (Ebony, Mashed)
